9月20日，生态环境部通报《2018-2019年蓝天保卫战重点区域强化督查京津冀及周边地区工作进展（9月19日）》称，沙钢集团安阳永兴特钢有限公司存在涉气环境问题，遭信访投诉。6月28日，生态环境部发布题为《沙钢集团百万吨钢渣弃置江边威胁长江水生态环境安全》的通报称，沙钢集团对中央环保督察组交办的烟尘污染问题却重视不够，整改敷衍，一犯再犯，而且长期累积的百万吨钢渣等工业固废随意堆放在长江岸边，污染周边土壤和水体，威胁长江水生态环境安全。
